Inspect the Roof and Gutters Before winter arrives, carefully inspect your roof for any loose panels, missing screws, or gaps around penetrations. Clean gutters and downspouts to ensure proper water drainage. Clogged gutters can cause ice dams that damage the roof edge and panels. Check Weatherstripping and Seals Examine door seals, window weatherstripping, and panel joints for gaps or deterioration. Replace any worn weatherstripping to prevent cold air infiltration, water intrusion, and energy loss. Pay special attention to garage door bottom seals. Insulate If Needed If your metal building is not insulated, consider adding insulation before winter. Even basic reflective insulation can significantly reduce heat loss and prevent condensation on the interior of metal panels.
